Services

This is what is running.

Seven services doing the work I would otherwise rent. Each one replaced a subscription.

Software

All of it runs on Kubernetes.

Two Talos nodes, one cluster. Argo CD is the only thing that touches it, so merging a pull request is the deploy.

What the cluster is made of.

Hardware

On my own hardware.

No rented server anywhere in this. Ten units of aluminium extrusion, with 3D-printed trays for whatever never came with rack ears.

Power, one module at a time.

No power strip fits a 10-inch rack, so the back of it is printed too. It is a stack rather than a strip: every box brings its own module up with it, and nothing else in the rack changes.

  • One per box Its own switch, so a box can be cut without reaching for anything else
  • Chained A 30 cm cord from each module to the one below, so one cable leaves the rack
  • Same face plate A C14 inlet, an illuminated rocker and a C13 outlet, whatever sits behind it
  • Two variants A DIN rail socket for wall plugs, or a right-angle C13 onto the power brick
